The Montjuïc Cable Car shouldn't be confused with the Port Cable Car (Transbordador Aeri), which crosses the bay: this one climbs in panoramic cabins from the intermediate station in Parc de Montjuïc up to the Castle, crowning the hill with 360-degree views over the port, the Mediterranean and the whole Eixample.
The ride takes about seven minutes, and the eight-person cabins have glazed floors and sides that make the climb itself part of the experience, not just a means of getting to the top.
The cheapest way up to the intermediate station is the Montjuïc Funicular, which departs from Paral·lel metro station and is part of the regular integrated fare system (same ticket as the metro). The panoramic cable car, on the other hand, is a separate tourist service with its own ticket.
