The best neighborhoods in Barcelona to walk around

Barcelona doesn't fully make sense if you only walk down La Rambla: each neighborhood has a distinct character, and walking between them is one of the best ways to actually get to know the city.

Barri Gòtic

The medieval heart of Barcelona, with narrow streets that suddenly open onto squares like Plaça Sant Jaume or the Cathedral. It's the neighborhood with the most history per square meter, though also the most crowded with tourists during the day.

El Born
